Farm Camp was a huge success!

Williams Montessori hosted the first Farm Camp on March 30th.

The Camp went really well and the kids (all from feeder schools) really enjoyed it!  We did some really fun activities such as, cooking healthy foods to show that healthy foods can be yummy. We also painted pots and planted seeds in them. after that, we went into the greenhouse and transplanted small plants into bigger containers and then the kids learned about how plants grow and different ways you can plant things (hydroponic system, square foot gardening).  In all we had a really fun day and everyone enjoyed it! In the future we would like to see more camps throughout the year and maybe even a week long summer camp!!

Spring Intersession: Scratch Cooking

Intersession is a two week long intense study of a concept or idea. The high school students are all currently on Intersession. We have been busy cooking away!  Over the past three days students have planned, budgeted, and shopped for two meals. We prepared, cooked, and served a French themed meal, which we all enjoyed.  We will be backing some homemade muffins for the staff of Williams and will begin preparing our Mexican themed meal. The students have done an amazing job so far showing off their cooking skills and are excited to learn more next week!
